Baby Grand
Baby Grand was started by Barry Thompson many moons ago as an interesting diversion between other music projects. In 2018 we blew the dust off, picked the best tracks and gave them a spit and a polish, and added a heap of new ones.
And Dream Of...'s release was met with favourable reviews and airplay across a wide spectrum, from Smooth Radio (UK), to Kansas Public Radio’s syndicated show The Retro Cocktail Hour, and The Ambient Music Guide, where it made their Best Albums of 2018.
Rachel Reason
Rachel's lush hamonies on Where Is Love? don't begin to do her range and power justice.
She's been singing in pro and semi-pro rock, pop and ska bands since the 80's, in the UK, Australia and Malaysia, and currently sings in the excellent covers band The Jury.
Esther Oberle
Esther contributed the gorgeous vocal on Sweet Music of Love. She currently runs and teaches at the Frankfurt Music Academy.
Jo Ward
Jo played the sweet lazy trumpet on Sweet Music of Love.
Charlie Thorley
Charlie contributes most of the guitar, and much sage production feedback, via his Wide Open Sound studio in Adelaide, sent via carrier pigeon with a USB port.
He's a multi-instrumentalist, recording engineer and producer, writing instrumental music and creating audio content for independent short films and TV.
Glenn Sharp
Glenn played the uke on Out Of The City, but is better known as a Grammy-nominated world music session musician, composer and producer.
He specialises in traditional acoustic music (particularly flamenco and arabic), but has also worked on projects including Latin, Indian, African and ancient Greco/Roman music.
Dave Williams
Dave contributed the dreamy tremolo guitar on the track And Dream Of..., and was the guitarist in the early Baby Grand gigs.
